If you're trying to keep the mileage low, then I think you're doing a very good job. My MINI was a little over 14,000 on his 1st birthday. I'd say 12,000 a year is considered 'average' in the states (most lease cars have a 12,000 a year allotment) and you should come in well under that. back in action

If you're staying at college (not commuting) and not coming home on weekends, your driving will probably drop even more once you get there, since you'll be busy with other stuff and only use your car for shopping trips or coming home on vacation. In any event, even at 15K/year no one really will complain, but to give you an idea, MINI warrantees the car for 4 years or 50K miles and 3 years/36K worth of free maintence, so they expect you as well to drive about 12K/year. But remember, you have the car to be fun, so don't avoid using it just because you don't want to put milage on, that's no fun at all, and you certainly won't have trouble if you drive a bit more. Enjoy your summer, take a road trip or 5, etc. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

18 days, 1400 miles. and that is mostly just commuting to and from work. I did add about 250 though yesterday just going for a drive. It is truly amazing how ones driving habits change when you move to the east side of the Pond! Chris Chris Cox, N0UK 2012 LB/S JCW Coupe (ex-GP 1168, ex-2004 IB/W Cooper)

AtomicKiwi, that is great mileage. I've had my MINI just under 16 months and I am about to hit 30k. On a side note, one of my friends made fun of me when she asked how long I had the car and I gave an answer in months. She said, most people talk about babies age in months, not cars. ![]() RIP Boo

Had Buzz 8 Months, just turned over 9000 miles last week. If you want to keep the car as long as you can, the best thing you can do is to be very consistent in keeping up with oil changes and other maintenance. That's the lifeblood of your car. Good luck! DW
