Dealership rear window sticker

I specifically asked my dealer not to put the Dealership sticker in the rear window of my new car, he said no problem. I took a trip to see the car in the dealers forecourt on Sunday (I haven't finalised finance yet) and the bloody sticker is in the window!

If I can remove the sticker, no problem but I just tried o remove the current Dealer's sticker from my current Mini and it wasn't going to come off without a fight, it began taking the rear windscreen heating element off with it!?

This was exactly why I was prepared and asked for thesticker not be put on as I imagined they would be very sticker and leave marks etc. on the window (which it looks as though it would) I decided to stick the corner I peeled off back down on my car.

I just wondered if anyone has had any success peeling their delar's sticker off?

Any specific advice or products used?

Hairdryer!

Sounds weird, but should work

On some MINIs fromn my dealer, there is a stick-on-the-body dealer sticker

Not my car, luckily

Good luck!

Removed my sticker OK with very little glue residue. You can buy a product from main chemists called "Zoffs", they are little chemical-soaked cloths designed to remove plaster residue from skin. You either have to ask the pharmacist or they are in the 'plasters' aisle...they work a treat, just make sure you rub off any residue from the window .

If you put white spirit on a cloth then rub where the sticker is it comes off quite easy along with the glue residue with it.

My dealer forgot to put the sticker in the back of my car, thank god! The only problem was they also forgot to put the tax disc in either!! Noticed halfway home on day 1.

New stickers on new cars should come off easily - mine did, in front of the salesman - why on earth do they think that we want to advertise their dealership?

I told my dealer twice "No stickers". But the car arrived with the dealer sticker on the back. The salesman spotted it though, and he peeled it off in front of me - no residue left behind.

Hairdryer and credit card Matt. Softens the glue and the card helps to ease the edges up to get started. Nail polish remover should take care of any residue.

Yep they forgot to put a sticker in mine too !! tee hee.
They almost forgot the tax disk too!!!
Sounds familiar, ended up waiting an hour to drive off with my car as I had to wait for my tax disk to come back from Manchester
Imagine how frustrating that was. Oh well at least no sticker

Just remind the dealer that you said, "No stickers" and make him remove them. That way, if any damage occurs, they're liable for it and have to fix it.

With a new car I doubt there'd be any problem peeling the stickers off.

When my Mum got her new car, a Clio, sadly not a MIN, my Dad told the dealer that if there were any stickers advertising the dealer, he would not take delivery of the car! This was before the car arrived nearly three weeks late, after Renault managed to 'lose' it after it left the factory?!

I allowed my MIN just the rear window sticker, since my dealer seems to be quite a goodie!!

I also told my dealer no stickers - so didn't get one - and I changed the number plates too so there's no trace whatsoever of the dealer on my car.

I worked with a guy once who said no sticker but it came with one so he rejected there and then. The dealers said they couldn't get the sticker off without ruining the heated screen. So he told them they would have to replace it - which they did!

In the MINI's case the car is enough of an advert. Unless you live in one of the largest cities it's unlikely you will have more than one dealer near you so anyone who sees your car and wants one will probably have to go to your dealer anyway.

Stick to your guns and tell them you asked for it not to be there and you don't expect to see it there when you pick it up!

I will never

purchase a car that has a dealers sticker, emblem, or anything else on it. I just paid 20,000+ for a car, I'm not doing it to advertise, if the dealer wants to pay me to drive around with their logo/name thats a different story.

Matt,

Just tell your your moron dealer to get this sorted for you before he delivers the MINI (note: it's not a car, it's a MINI ). You specifically asked him not to add this "extra" and he did.

Our dealer just replaced the chequered flag and bonnet striped because these were equipped with "airbags" I did not asked for. I additionally requested him to remove the dealer "striping" otherwise I had to do it myself. He was friendly enough to do it.

BTW: the hairdryer is the easiest solution. Our dealer hair dried our MINI to remove flag and stripes.

Good luck!

Emergency procedure: put head between your legs, and kiss your ass goodbye.
