Question MINIstry of Ownership - is it worth it?

Received the MINIstry of Ownership letter and passport through the post today, and have tried to log in to it this evening to see what benefits/info there is in the owners only part of the official site - only it's telling me that Gismo's chassis number doesn't exist in its database.

Anyone else experienced a problem with it? Do I need to wait a day or two after receiving the letter for them to update their d/b? Does anyone who has accessed it think it's worth worrying about at all anyway?!

A genuine MC owner feeling a bit left out (it would appear that it's easier to get into the House of Commons! )

It's nothing to write home about - a route planner, some driving tours and info about dealer fit accessories.

Martin.

Got my new MC 23rd July and still can't get into the Ministry with my chassis number. According to the website there is only one reason it doesn't recognise it - and that's because I have mistyped it! So gave up after 20 attempts...

Figured if it was that amazing it would be mentioned on here more

you get to choose something from the collection - ie t-shirt etc or clock.

You have to be the big winner for that though!

Thumbs up

Cheers guys - looks like I'm not the only one having problems gettng in then, but will persist as there seemto be some cool benefits.

BTW Read last night in Auto Express something about the Motor Show not being in NEC next year, and the organisers moving it to Excel centre in London - not sure if that'll be a good or a bad thing yet. Have to wait and see what they do with the format of the whole thing I guess.

I'm In!!!

Well guys, access is no longer denied! Anyone else having problems getting into the MINIstry - simply e-mail the website team at website_feedback@mini.co.uk - I did on the 16 Sept, and their response on 20 Sept was:

Quote:
Dear Matthew,

Sorry for the delay in being able to access the Ministry of Ownership. I am
pleased to let you know that you should now be able register.

If you have any further problems, please don't hesitate to contact us. Hope
you enjoy the site!

Kind Regards
MINI E-commerce Team

All it needed was a gentle pupsh, and they sorted it out right away! That's pretty good service in my book!

I did log on but didn't find much of interest, you'd think they'd invest a bit more in the site given what we've spent on our MINIs. I finally got my passport yesterday & I have had my MINI since mid-June. Hmmm.
