Me and my 2005 MINI Cooper!!! (sort of a blog)

Hi all!
First of all, this is a really cool site! I've been reading it for a couple of days, and today I decided to register and also post some pictures of my almost brand new MINI!
I took delivery of my MINI almost a month ago (december the 28th)!...What a way to start a new year!!!
I live in Guadalajara (Mexico) and I am the very happy owner of a brand new 2005 MINI Cooper (Liquid Yellow w/white). I've just posted some pictures of my car in the personal gallery. I hope that you like it as much as I do!

rica_roel is a member here from Mexico City that does some road rally racing. Something might come up close enough for you to go cheer him on.
I do realize it's a couple hundred miles away though.

Thank you all!!! I've just checked your profiles and MINIs!!! Cool cars!!!
My MINI just recorded 1000 kms today, so there are 1000 kms more to go before the break-in period is over!!! The more I drive it the more I love it!
Volkswagen new Bora was premiered in México today. I went to a nearby VW dealership tonight to check that car out. I got there in my MINI, parked in the very entrance and noticed several guys looking at my MINI instead of looking at the new Bora!...Too bad for the Bora!
A Volkswagen salesman talked to me while I was looking at the Bora and asked me if was interested in a new car. I just answered politely "no thanks!", but what I was really thinking was: "Sure I'm interested, but just in my new 2005 MINI...!!!"
No other car, however new or exotic, will ever interest me again after owning a MINI!!!

Thanks Scooperman! I'm quite aware that this IS the place to share our passion for the MINI.
By the way, your all black MINI is gorgeous! I almost got mine just like yours! But since all of my previous cars had such "serious" colours (all except for a 1956 pink and white Imperial -by Chrysler-) I decided to get a brighter colour instead...
I might get a priviledge membership later on!...I have to think about saving enough money for my MINI's monthly payments!

thanks for the kind words. however this time of year when its wet and roads have a lot of salt on them, black soon becomes dark grey

It's been a whole month since I got my MINI and it's been an absolutely fantastic month so far! My MINI has 1106 kms on it and I have enjoyed every single moment!
I'm getting quite a sun tan because winters in Mexico are mild and quite sunny and the sun roof in my MINI has been open most of the time!!!...

I've had my MINI for a little over a month now. The weather had been just perfect since then, but today it rained! So that gave me the first chance to try out the windshield wipers, defroster, and rear glass heating! (BTW: All working perfectly!) I really liked how the speed-sensitive wipers work!
I also now know what other mini2 members mean when they say that the MINI's back end gets really dirty! I guess that my MINI-washing-saturday-ritual will be fun!!!



A little while ago, just as I got home, I had a phone call from a cousin who saw my MINI two weeks ago. He asked me to give him the name of the MINI salesman that helped me when I bought mine! Apparently my cousin is getting one too!...Another MINI in my family, what a joy!!! Unfortunately he doesn't speak english, so he will be missing this great site!
