This very day I became the proud owner of a 2002 Mini, with a mere 10,000 miles on the odometer.
I'm very excited to have found this car, being a Cooper fan from way back to the "Golden Age" of motorsport (in my book, anyway) of the 50's and 60's when Coopers were such a great part of the Formula One world.
My new baby is black, with a white top and mirrors. No stripes, sadly, but she's beauriful nonetheless. I traded in my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon for my new Mini, a bit sad, since the Tib was a good car, and gave stellar service, but I definately feel as if I've traded up, and into a car which, besides it's mechanical qualities, also has great personality.
At any rate, I'm a bit chuffed, and just wanted to bask in the feeling a bit with those who know.
Your MINI sounds great. I love the black/white color scheme. I have a question though, Hurri IIc wouldn't be short for Hurricane Mk IIc would it? That great Hawker fighter from WWII!
Congratulations. You can get the stripes fitted quite easily, and get a pair of auxillary driving lamps pretty cheaply i would have thought - for the classic cooper look.
This car is so much fun to drive. Why did I wait this long to heed the inner voice that has been telling me to buy a Mini since they were reintroduced?
I friend of mine who has both a BMW M3 and a Cooper S called it an Atomic Rollerskate
A pretty apt description. I spent all weekend driving my new Mini and laughing with maniacal glee
Welcome Hurri !! the black & white is great... we need pics... and '' the grin '' seems to be permanent, I'm about 4 months in and it's still there. Have a blast !!
How can you be in two places at once, when you're not anywhere at all ?
I pulled into my local convenience store last night on my way home from work to get a cup of coffee, and immediately I had parked I was surrounded by half a dozen young kids saying "Ooooooh, is that a Mini Cooper", "It IS a Mini Cooper", "cool car, mister".
Lol.
Who says driving it is the only plus to owning one.
Now I've got go and find some bonnet stripes, and perhaps a couple of rally lamps. I can't wait to get off work so that I can drive home
