Question which cooper.. park lane thing or white

i have been offered one of these park lane editions of the cooper for Sept delivery... I wont hold my breah tho... or a very nice white with black roof and bonnet stripes done 2000 miles as a dealer demo car/salesmans hack... it has air con, sunroof, full leather, S spokes, white indicators, CD, Chilly pack etc. but after 2 yellow coopers now fancy a change of colour and always fancied a dark grey..... or maybe a white... damn what do i do

If the price is right I'd go for the ex-demo, I'm quite liking the Pepper White the more I see it...

I went to look at the Park Lane special edition today and surprise surprise......no dealerships in London have a demo model! They don't even have a brochure or photo of it My dealers have received this week a pack with a colour swatch of the leather seats and exterior paint colour.

Marysmin1 the Park Lane is only in the one colourway.....dark silver ish colour!

It's not very good really considering it is available now to order!

Ooooo I'd like to see that Park Lane MINI in the flesh, as I'm liking the colour from what I've seen so far in the pics. Be interesting to see it for real.

The interior of the Park Lane is very nice...that would be very tempting.

When I ordered my car in Astro black, the mini customer services were unable to provide any photographs of the car in the colour and were unable to locate any demonstrators nationally in the colour. I got sent via e-mail a 200x200 (aprox resolution dimensions) photo of a standard black mini and was told it should help me visualise what the car will look like!

There are some great photos on here of the park lane edition and it seems to be good value. I'm just not sure about the graphics, but it promises to be a really nice colour.

Thanks for your replies people only just found this again as when I posted it I got a message saying that it had not gone and left it :/

anyway as to my desicion.......... tadaaaaaaaa..... the pepper white had a putrid shade of yellowish cream leather and matching carpets, I have done 55K in this cooper so that won' t last

So the order was placed for the Park Lane Cooper, the more I see of it the more I like it, I'll just be addding the harmon kardon system and maybe the sports plus suspension, but, it shows as a £100 extra and not free as last two coopers with chilly pack.. is this right?

I think you've made the right decision there, I would avoid an ex-demo if at all possible, no matter what the spec or colour. The way the car is treated during its running in period is important and there's every chance it may have been driven like a hire car

Is the Park Lane the one with the leather? If it is then it's very tasty

Tigger.

I have recently seen the new additions in next months Go Mini.

I have to say that I hate all the editions.

Why oh why have the Cooper and S been given such crap names and graphics.
The S looks like it has been down to Halfords and some spotty shop assistant has stuck on some £9.99 graphics.

The rest of the package is good, names and graphics are just overkill: any body else agree or has an opinion?

Perhaps I am just biased...

I'm so glad a forum on minis exists! I'm buying my first ever car and it's gonna be a mini cooper but I've been toiling over an astro black with chili pack or the new park lane.

Park lane is winning today but yesterday the astro black was in the lead!!! Only way of separating them is cost, as Park lane would be around £600 more.

Would value your opinions. I see ayohell opted for the park lane. Encouraging.

Also - Anyone know if the price quoted (£15260) is on the road price?

Really appreciate advice - was gonnoa go to the dealership tomorrow and place the order, so I can finally sleep at night!

I know how you feel the reason I opted for the Park Lane was it had all the extras I have had on the last one, chilly pack, climate control, etc.. and added full leather for next to no extra cost, oh, and like the colour with the silver roof

The price you quoted was about right I think but I lost track after adding Harmon Kardon single CD and heated mirrors and washer jets :/

well...

I ordered the PARK LANE and feel it was the right decision! No regrets! Can't wait, but gonna have to cos the estimated delivery is end of October!

That gives me time to figure out how I'll pay for it.....

One last thing, ayohell - when I ordered it, they had to add on road fund licence (tax) £150 as it wasn't included. Can you remember was this the same for you? I only added heated washer jets/ mirrors so didn't break the bank.

Great forum, thanks for helpful advice. Keep it up.

well at least there will be 2 of us out there .... yes they did add the tax as I remember and also said that it hdd raised a group from my last one :/ aside from the registration they also added a treatment, some kind of waxing I think, for the bodywork which wasn't cheap! I may have them leave that if they allow it as I am sure at some point on these boards I have read that it is not worth it, any comments on this would be appreciated as I have a few weeks to tinker with the spec above the Park Lane standard
MIne is for a September delivery, he's quoting a rough mid Sept but on past experience from the last 2 MINI's from there I have no reason to doubt that, the next batch they can get after that he said was December! but I think thats a dealer thing
All the best with yours and hope it lives up to both our expectations and let me know how it goes... thro here or feel free to e-mail me as ayohell666@aol.com

heres me going to
