England Retro Fitting Fog Lights to 2002 MCS Help needed

For Christmas my good wife bought me a genuine BMW Mini retrofit foglamp kit (Part No: 63 17 0 300 329)
It also came with instructions for fitting (title Fog Light retrofit Kit Mini R50)
Instructions state that fitting should take 2 hours depending on condition of vehicle. There was nothing wrong with my car and it took me 6 hours to fit fog lamps, fitting and terminating cables under the bonnet and getting the last 4 cables into the cabin. That was Early January,Today I thought I'd finish of the job as I was fed up with keep driving about with the glove box out and the fog lamp cables coiled up
firstly the instructions cable run didn't seem right so I ran them with the main loom under the dash top,al seems O.K but the 2 module cables now seem too short No problem if need be I'll extend them .Secondly the terminal s 7 & 3 on the switch panel 18 pin plug that these two cables go to already have cables fitted (Yellow /Broiwn in pin 7 & Red / Grey in pin 3) .I never even bothered trying to connect into the control moduleSo another 2 hours and I still have no working fog lamps, but my interior is back together .
By the time they are finished it will be summer
So this is where I need help.I've come to the conclusion that these instructions only refer to the Cooper (R50)and not apply to MCS (R53)( I've seached the web and only found the same instructions I already have!!!!.I'll paste a link once I've posted this) This may also explain that the relay and fuse that came in the kit and was meant to be fitted under the bvonnet in the fuse box was already fitted
So does anybody have any fitting instructions for a MCS?Or can tell me where the final 4connectins go.or that all the wiring under the bonnet was correct.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Any body going on the London To Brighton this year?
Regards Zanhar 25

The retrofit kit number you have doesn't match any of those listed in the PDF.

zanhar25, there is an error in the original fog retrofit instructions (the one posted on MotoringFile). Where it says to connect pins 7 and 3 for the toggle panel, should have read 17 and 13. You'll see the correct pins listed if you look at the connection diagram in the instructions.

I have an updated set of instructions (the one on MotoringFile is dated 2001!). You can down load it here: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/rkwoo@...lst?.dir=/MINI. The instructions are really the same but the error has been corrected. My retrofit is half done (not yet routed into the cabin) and I was fortunate to see that someone had posted about the error on northamericanmotoring.com.

I noticed that when I got them but that ,but that was what my dealer gave me when I picked the kit up so I assumed it was the same procedure for all models/ retro kits,

i got an exhaust because i wanted to make my car sound fast, but its not fast at all, so therefore i am a ricer....

Thanks for that information,I'm a bit peeved to know that I'll have to have them activated at a dealer when my original instructions stated different

Has anybody else thought the loom is a bit on the short side if routed with original loom under dash top??
