Halo driving lamps to match side lights- see inside

These might be tempting. Would they look good or be too much?

i reckon they'd look god but only if you managed to get the actual headlights of the car the same. might look a little silly if they only match the sidelights...?

Too much I rekon. I don't even like the Halo LED look - I've actually taken my LED's out and I'm running the Halo sidelights with "white" globes that match my headlights/foglights.

The halos look nice, as the other guys have said obe, would the match the sidelights or headlights?

I'm beginning to think xenons are impossible to match .

Anyway, no matter what main beam bulbs are used, they are never gonna fully match the xenons anyway?

If you like the look, go for it........even on a BMW, the angel eyes don't match the xenon beams anyway......

I don't have the Xenons(too heavy )

I'm leaning more towards these now. PIAA 510s. My OEM lights are getting crappy looking, R.ust and cheap chrome starting to check.
This kit is more "MINIish"

The Standard Mini Spotlamps are cheap quality wife had to have hers replaced after less than 6 months as the nuts on the shaft had rusted up!! and they had to be cut off to replace the aero grille (which had been poorly cut by the dealer when lamps installed)

I wonder if it'd be worth your while to get the OEM's just stripped back and re-dipped, and done "properly"?

You know, that's a good idea.
The PIAAs were in the lead but I like the look of the OEM lights.
What I don't like though is that the OEM lights
aren't all that good. Their range sucks.

Well, if you going to get the OEM ones stripped and re-dipped, why not re-wire them (like you would an aftermarket kit anyway...) with some decent gauge wire and stick some 100w globes in there, then the range would be a lot better .

Makes sense. What I have thought about in the past though is that I don't know if it is the wattage or the lense design or parabola of the reflector.
A higher wattage may just make it a brighter flood instead of increasing the range.

That is possible - without testing it myself, I imagine that if you put a higher wattage globe in then the reflector would throw it out further, hence also having a wider spread.

One thing you might be able to try (I haven't checked how the lights are wired) is if the wiring of the lights in in parralell off of the one supply feed, you might be able to unplug one of the stock globes and run one 100w globe to test it out (i.e. instead of running 2x 55w globes, run 1x 100w globe) to see how far/wide the spread is.
