Fitting a Cooper S Fuel Door

Hi,

I've just bought a Cooper S fuel door and I'm thinking of leaving it in to a bodyshop next week to get the surround painted, while my M3 is in getting the mirrors painted. The Mini is Yellow (2002, not sure exactly what it's called??).

I am wondering if this will be ok, or whether I run the risk of a bad paint match by simply supplying the fuel door and paint code? If it does work out ok I'll be fitting it myself. How difficult are they to fit, and has anyone done a How To guide online?

Cheers! Rob

I gave the instructions on the how to from mini2 to a garage and they fitted it fine. They said it was very helpful. The one i used was a step by step fitting instruction with photos.

The paint is called liquid yellow. Paint match should not be an issue if you give the liquid yellow BMW code to the garage.

I did it myself and I'm not really a DIY type at all. Took me an hour or so.... I found some instructions on the internet at http://homepage.mac.com/rv6a/minisgascap.html

Thinking of doing this myself as well.

I was considering getting the trim painted up in black for fitting to my CR/B Cooper. Anyone seen it done like that or got any pictures? Any opinions on it also gladly received.

That looks excellent, pretty much how ours is going to be looking! Do you know how much it has been lowered?
