Diadem Bulbs??

does anyone know where you can buy the diadem bulbs used the official clear lights? Not just the indicators, i mean the diadem brake lights??!

I believe the brake lights are hard to get hold of as they initially didn't do replacements. There was a thread on here a long time ago so try a search. I believe then it was confirmed Osram would be making the brake lights for the aftermarket.

Good luck and let us all know if you manage to source them.

OK found the thread but it looks like it was never found out if they were available or not. just found out Osram UK is just round the corner from my house!

I'[m going to e-mail them to start with to see if I get a response.

I've sent them an e-mail now and let them know that I am local if they need to see the bulbs for part numbers etc. Fingers crossed.

I'm don't think that Osram produce Diadem brake lights. I've got the Diadem indicator bulbs, but I'm pretty sure they don't do the brake lights.

S33BBY, they do make them as that is what is fitted to the clear rear lights. However they do not appear to be available to the after market. I'm not sure why to be honest because I'm sure they'd make a killing as you can get clear brake lights for virtually any car but most of the brake lights bulbs lose there colour after a while. The diadem lights as fitted to MINI's are the obvious solution.

Thanks Mikey. They obviously manufacture the bulbs but why they don't sell them separately is a mystery. The only thing that did get mentioned is that they were not EU approved but I can't see BMW using an illegal component on their cars.

They have Osram stamped on them

Plus only Osram make the weird bluey diadem coating that is on the bulbs. One of their trade marks.

Seriously though, I had the clear rears on my old pre-facelift MINI, but I never noticed Osram on the bulbs, so I have genuinely learnt something new today, and it's not even midday yet.

Yeah the bulbs have to be de-soldered from the base to see it around the metal ring at the bottom of the bulb. Other members have spoken to Osram about the bulbs but they said previously they were pending EU approval???

That was 3 years ago.
