Side by side shot comparisons of the 1st and 2nd Generation Cooper S

1st Generation & 2nd Generation MINI - Exterior Design Comparison Photographs

Done my best in this article to match some shots of the outgoing and incoming models, hope it helps visualise the changes and updates a little better.

They're getting there, upload just didn't work first time, and my upload speeds are poor out here in the middle of nowhere.......

All done now, and working fine.

I like the new mini, the rear is much better, the spoiler looks great and the engine changes are a welcome difference!

Thumbs up

I particularly like this shot, not for the Mini's rear, but seeing Paul straddling a fence clutching his photo sheet Nice work

It does highlight the slightly "effeminate" (no offence meant - could not think of a more appropriate word at short notice) look of that fake scoop - it simply does not look purposeful from the front;................ which is an accurate look I suppose.

Interesting comparisions. Essentially very similar, but with lots of subtle changes.

Will be most interested to see the spoiler in the flesh, it looks great. A big reason why I changed mine was that the original S spoiler didn't look as though it *quite* fitted on there, as Paul says, the new one "follows the lines much better"...

Am I right to assume the bonnet/grill changes are for safety reasons? It doesn't really work for me. It doesn't look as happy as the existing design, sort of gone a bit bull nosed!

It reminds me of a Bentley Continental GT front end, somehow?

Great work Paul! Thanks for sorting this out for us. Changed my views a little on the front end. I'm looking forward to the finished article now!
