Re-spraying used bumpers to a different colour

Hi there, this may be a stupid question but is it possible to respray bumpers from one colour to another ?.

I have had bumps & scrapes from various idiots recently and thus I'm looking at picking up some cheap used std bumpers front & rear from here or from ebay - prefereably BRG. If they're not BRG then there's the possibility of getting them resprayed.

What do you reckon ?

Perfectly possible. Any bodyshop will be able to do this for you without any trouble.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Cool - thanks for putting me straight.

This one's a long shot - does anyone know of a decent bodyshop in the Notts / Derby area ?. I could have them done at the dealer but they charge the earth and I don't know if they subcontract this work out.

Your help would be much appreciated.

If they do subcontract it out, then its worth trying to find out where to, as that is what I did, I used the bodyshop that my dealer uses, but cut out the dealer margin and got a BMW approved paint job

I have pepper white on me rear, and blue on the front!

.....hold on me front is blue!

A word of advice.....Don't buy red bumpers if you can avoid em!......any sprayer will tell you they are a bad colour to paint over and are bad for stone chips!

Just collected the car from the bodyshop last night, front end total respray (after MtM )
£330!!

Why? All MINI colours are clearcoat. Therefore every colour is the same on top meaning they are all equally sprayable.
