Window mount ski rack?

Hi,

I was researching options for a skiing roof rack for my '03 Cooper, and noticed most comments in this forum say Thule racks are the best option. However, I also came across some window mounted racks, which are perhaps less versatile, but seem cheaper and easier to install and use.

Does anyone have experience with these, or thoughts about whether they might cause any damage, to the windows for instance?

I would expect you'd have great trouble with these on a MINI, since both the window is frameless AND it has the auto up/down when you open/close the door.

my solution for my snowboard is to kick the front passenger into the rear (seat), and put the board inside

Thanks for the reply, damiond! The frameless window could be an issue, and it would be silly to save money on the roof rack, only to get a window knocked out as a result. I'll probably end up going with a Thule rack, since they seem the most recommended on these forums.

Incidentally, while searching around, I came across these particularly sketchy looking ones. Attach to your roof by vacuum!
