Integrated Aerial (Small Stubby Aerial) I just wondered if anyone has the short stubby aerial/antenna, I spoke to the parts dept. and my local BMW garage today and he gave me the part number and said he could order it for £38.00 I actually saw it on a Cooper S, is it standard on them? I'm not sure if the reception would be poorer or if the original antenna is 'iconic' to the MINI, any thoughts? I can order it anytime and he said if I decide to spray my roof and mirrors (£400) you could get the antenna in the roof/mirror colour? I wonder if I would need to decide that prior to ordering? Any thoughts, views, photos or opinions? Thanks

The shark-fin aerial is the SatNav only aerial. Cars with SatNav have a element for radio reception on the right hand side rear window. I'm sure MiniGuy could confirm this. If you want a stubby aerial visit www.hirschmann.co.uk DC There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

If you go to: http://www.gotmini.com/miniext.htm You can check out stubby and super-stubby aerials, they are only 27 and 20 dollars, respectively... I have the super stubby, looks great, and regardless of what they say, reception is hardly affected

Yeah, that's the one I got the number off. Does the other one (the one that does nav and mobile phone) also do radio or do you need to have it as well as the other (normal) aerial? What do you think of the sharkfin aerial fin place of the normal?

Nice antenna!!! I want one too! BTW, did it affect radio reception? Thanks Silk Green Cooper with white roof & wheels Sports seats, 16'' run-flats, Xenons, Sunroof, heated seats, automatic A/C

| Just how involved is it to replace the roof antennae? Do you have to remove part of the roof lining to install it or can everything be done from topside? | OK, but fringe reception may be worse The stubby antennas, or the the rear window one that comes with the satnav, may be OK for city FM reception. But if you are motoring farther afield, be cautious! We live 30 to 50 miles from the Phila and NYC FM stations, and reception is a challenge at best here. A smaller antenna may not be good enough. Some years ago, Detroit came up with those infamous wire-in-the-windshield FM antennas which gave poor reception. If FM is important to you, I'd be inclined to go with the "standard" antenna.
