Unhappy Aero side skirts

Just got myself a set of aero side skirts and I am trying to attach the little black plastic grill bit that is meant to just clip on. There isn't any chance that this is going to clip in, the height of the grill is about 1cm larger than the hole itself!

It is the same on both the skirts, surely I can't be unlucky that I have got dodgey sized insets for both? What did other do to fit them in?

Thanks

Brute Force mate, that's all you can do....

Try using a sturdy flat head screwdriver to slightly "squash" the black grill through the smaller gap. It does go in eventually, and there's certainly no danger of it ever coming out again.

It's best to fit all the clips and grills on a nice soft carpet to avoid scratching or marking the paint

I posted a thread about this a while ago, too.

Are the skirts on the car? Mine were (the dealer forgot to put the grills on) and there was no way in hell they were going to fit, not to mention the fact that I just couldn't get them/myself in the right position!

I eventually had to take the car back to the dealer, who put it up on the ramps and managed to get them in with brute force, as Buttonit has said.

Can't remember if the straight side goes in first or the curved side, but to help the last side/edge to go in, I trimmed mine very slightly with a stanley knife so the edge was more angled

Can't do that as the last one is wedged half in/half out at the moment and doesn't want to budge either way

Brute force, or have you devised a technique?
