removing front number plate

Hi, I'm putting new plates on and had a few questions for anyone who has changed theirs. It's the front plate that's the problem because it's stuck on, how do i get it off? I tried dental floss but it breaks too easily and pulling it flexes the whole bottom part of the bumper. I'm thinking maybe i should stick the new one on top of the old one which brings me to my second question, has anyone done this and what should i stick it on with? I was supplied with some double sided sticky pads but i can't see them lasting very long, anyone recommend any glues? Thanks alot.

Just for future reference - i bought some thicker dental floss and this worked great.

Mate just slowly bend the end of the plate and use a sharp plastic item and help unstick it whilst slowly pulling the plate off. Of course remember to unscrew the plate aswell
