Think I've decided, unless someone thinks otherwise?!

Here goes,

Unless between now and tomorrow can convince me otherwise these are the lights I'm going for!

Jon Speed Racing - Premier Mini Specialists - Online Mini Spares Shop & Garage Facilities

My reasons for these are as follows,

Firstly they shouldn't rust as they are stainless steel
Good price
I don't have to pay BMW to fit/activate them
Not just from an e-bay seller

BTW I've ordered the 3 spoke sport steering wheel, will be here tomorrow!

Any thoughts?

Please someone tell me these will be ok! Or not! Don't want someone drilling into Jack if it's a lousy product!

Thanks for the replies, the most positive I've had about different lights! The brackets should be ok, as they are stainless steel too!? think I'm going to go for it, it's all book in for Friday anyway!

The lights and brackets can still corrode even if stainless steal...not rust but wierd white stuff. Just keep them clean and some folk wax them? Personally I'd have gone for ones like the BMW ones that don't reuire drilling TMK.

I thought they all needed drilling? Downloaded instructions for fitting the BMW ones and said they do!?

I'm no spotlight expert but they look good. Are you getting them fitted at Jon Speed or somewhere local? how long do they reckon it takes to fit them?

I was going to get them fitted local to me, I know a man who can, but think I've decided otherwise! To be honest, the thought of someone drilling so close to the outer shell of the bonnet scares the c*%p out of me! I asked at BMW about their ones, and they need drilling too. There's a post on here of someone getting them fitted by BMW and they did a really bad job, bent the inside of the bonnet, the paint started to come away, and rust set in. To be honest, not worth it! I may give it a go myself sometime, at least I'm in control of the drill then!

As for time, BMW will charge you 2 1/2 hours labour! That's more than the price of the lights.

yeah know what you mean about the drilling and 2.5hrs Guildford BMW labour is over £250!

I fancy some spots but then £300 would buy me some very nice GTT goodies

Yeah, I'm not paying that sort of money for a couple of lights, don't get me wrong I didn't but a Mini to save money, but like you said a lot can be done with £300! I have the 3 spoke sport steering wheel plus airbag sitting next to me waiting to be fitted, and that cost me £370! So another £300 is, at the moment anyway, out the question!

Are you on the Guildford to Top Gear run in a couple of weeks?
