4 spotlights now fitted

Hi all

I was watching the origanal Italian job the other night and i liked the look of the 3 spot lights on the front and i have been thinking of doing that to my mini as i have never seen one with 3 spots. I already have two spotlights and was thinking of buying some off Ebay etc and adding one to the middle but not wiring it up because i don't how hard that will be to add to the loom.

Below are two pics of the car to give me a rough idea of what it looks like now and what it might look like. what do people think good idea / bad idea?

Four would look awesome, if you put the additional two slightly higher up like you have done with the 3rd one. In a kind or arch.

I was thinking of 4 ages ago but someone told me that 4 would restrict the amount of air getting in. Think it was the dealer who said this, is this true?

3 I believe is illegal, on cars above a certain age I believe, you'd need to check it out before doing it

You should be able to wire them up I would have thought, into the exisitng wiring, I could be wrong, but up until a while ago, MINI were happy to fit four to a car, but as you say the excuse is now that they affect airflow to the car. Which I personally don't think is anything serious, you have to remember BMW are just covering their own backs.

I'm not sure if MINI will officially do it anymore, but a friendly service manger might at a MINI dealership.

Officially spots couldn't be fitted to my ONE D, but they're on now, and they were fitted by a dealer

James.

Oh and forgot to add, if MINI wont do them for you, a local auto electrician should be able to do it no problem...

It will look awesome mate, good choice! I would have gone for 4, but even at a negotiated rate of £250 for two (quotes ranged from £280 to £380) I could not stretch to £500 at the time!

But its on the long list of future mods

How good are the wipac spots, as they are a lot cheaper than dealer ones. Do they look different?
