Right a few weeks ago why on a run with a few of the locals from mini2, Some one noticed there was a puddle of water under my car. The next day i popped in to my dealers after and hour or so they said the washer pipe had come off and just had to be reconnected.
Today after about 5 minutes of driving from my house i needed to was my windscreen because of all the bugs, Water started to come out then it all just cut out. Luckily i was about 2 miles from a petrol station, I went and filled up went to spray the window and saw there was a big puddle under the drives side door.
I took it to my dealers today after having to clean the window by hand with fast glass, Still have tons of bugs on it.
Told them that the washer has gone again,Said last time it was a pipe that had come off, I said it might be better to get a new pipe, They dint check the car today. He went out the back and said they don't have any pipes in, So they will have to order it. He asked me when i was free. I said Fridays expecting it to be this Friday, But know he said the parts are going to take tell next Friday to come in.
So I have to go for 1 1/2 weeks with out windscreen washer s
I have been informed that Aparently it is illegal to drive with out washer fuiled and Evan worse if it does not work at all and it can be 3 Points.
Thats 3 point i can not afford and don't realy want for some thing whats not Evan my fault.
Im quite tempted to go back and kick up a fuss about it, I know its quite petty thing but as it is illegal i dont realy want to go for a week and a bit with out washers,
Slight proplem they dont have the part .they could have taken a look at it tho. I still cant see how it can take nearly 2 weeks for a pipe. Normaly parts take 2 or 3 days max.
Tell them that you want a loan car whilst they're waiting for the parts - that'll get them to hurry it up a bit
Seriously though, it's not worth risking the points...hope you get it sorted.
I'm tempted to go to the police station and get some information on not having washer fluid as its part of the Vehicle defect form or some thing ...and give that to them. Or try and find out what the law is as i cant find it on the net.
Right after going back in not a very happy mood, I told them about what i had found out and said about I'm not happy driving it with out them working, As a nice police man told me that it would mean in a crash i would not be insured. He also told me to go back and tell them to fix it or tell them you will go to the press about it. So after this they put the car in and Aparently sorted it out. After getting my car back i drove off got about 6 or 7 miles away and needed to use the washer. Befor i left i said i would like to make a complaint so I was given my dealers customer serves bit as its at the BMW garage.
Guess what It dint work well it did for about 2 secs then it stooped, Went and filled the water up and it was leaking again.
Went back and told them they took it in again. Seam to fix it again,With the part that was not coming in for a week and a bit. I said it was not executable and was told that BMW would not have given me a courtesy car, So i replayed thats not my fault is it now. They would have to pay for my travel then would they..
I also said i don't think it was very good that i was able to drive away in the first place, When they would know its illegal not to have washer's as its part of an MOT. He then said well it was only going to be for a few days tell Friday., Funny as i asked if it was this Friday and they said no it would take tell next week to get the part. Then they said must be a bit of miscommunication. But i think it was covering
I will be phoning up there customer service. I will also be Phoning MINI HQ about it. As i don't think its acceptable.
If i buy a new mini i don't think it will be there, This is the first time they have done something wrong to me, But i don't think they handled it very well,
I know the hole washer thing is petty, But its just the predicable relay. From a back street dealer yer i would expect them to not care, But when the car was quite expensive. I don't think its right.

Jordan, how did they attempt to fix it if they didn't have the parts? I guess they must have attempted a 'bodge' fix to get it up and running - obviously didn't work.
Some parts like these that are no common use are on a longer lead time as they have to come in from Germany. Also, if they're on factory back order (meaning all stock is being used at Oxford) then getting spares can be tricky.
For the minute, just carry in the boot some glass cleaner and some rags and ensure your screen is always kept clean. Wait till the right part comes in, then let them fix it properly.
Well Apparently its all fixed now, And they used the part they dint have......
Also they said the first time after Bobs fun when it was leaking they said they used a cable tie, To concect the pipe, Then it meant the other side was loose, So they did the same...
Then they fixed it with a new part apparently. I'm tempted to ask to see hows it been fixed or get a different dealer to look at it.
Right yesterday I phoned up BMW HQ with the number my dealer gave me and made a complaint about them, Must say the man on the phone was very helpfully to me, Asked for my contact details what i gave him and so on, Gave him the full story, He said they would phone my dealer and get them to phone me and come in for a chat.
You would think that would be straight forward, As My dealer has my phone number on there computers, Also they know my number plate and car. But now they are phoning my brother. Not me,
They left a voice main a few days ago about is his washers OK now and so on, Now they have left about 3 or 4 missed calls today.
So its not really going well for them at the minute. As I'm starting to lose all my confidants in them.
I took delivery of an MCS on 27-Jun and by 29-Jun washers were u/s.
I spoke to salesman who said "funny, same thing has happened to my MC.Give me a call on Monday 02-Jul and we see what can be done"
This looks like a general fault.
I will keep the forum updated
Update 02-July
Visited dealer who found the water tube kinked by bonnet closure - moved tube slightly - perfect fix.
All faith restored
