| I just wanted to add that I really think the MINI's rear wiper arm is one of the car's truely great little design features. Yes, I'm serious. ![]() Think about it. Typically as you know, on cars there is a ungainly wiper arm that reaches over to support a separate wiper blade assembly. But on the MINI the two (not to mention the squirter itself) are combined into a single elegant looking piece. The simple, artful design of making the wiper arm cover the wiper blade really helps keep the rear hatch free from visual clutter. It's the little details like that really show how the MINI's whole design was very well thought out and refined. | Found this thread through a search. Had to use the rear washer for the first time today. Have had the car as a daily driver for almost three months but this is Phoenix Arizona The jet is under-whelming. It just kind of blorps along the length of the wiper arm and reaches only the bottom half of the window, leaving the top smeared with mud. Is this about the norm or have I plugged it with Zaino?! (jk, didn't really Zaino the thing) Thanks! Mike |

| I haven't looked closely, but can you re-aim the washer jet with a fingernail or pin even? It would be nice to aim it a bit higher. Ef you squirt only the top half, gravity generally helps to bring the water down the window to the bottom half. Generally. Not always, though. Whatever. |

| In fact the rear washer nozzle can be adjusted with a needle. It's movement is relatively stiff so a regular straight pin might bend somewhat before the nozzle moves, thus the use of a needle. It doesn't seem to freely rotate in its socket, rather it feels like it is ratcheted a bit, which actually makes the adjustment easier. This area uses a lot of salt on the roads during the winter and the rear window quickly gets coated. Before adjusting the nozzle I was only able to see through the lower half of the arc. Afterwards, fluid squirts along the length of the blade and the entire arc is clear. |
