Angry Spotlights help! What am I doiing wrong?

Hey peeps!
I've bin wiring some spotlights onto my 2002 cooper. I got some cheap black spotlights from ebay some brackets from newministuff and a bog standard wiring kit (relay, wires, fuse etc.). Tried wiring it up and the lights weren't working.

Connected the wire with fuse (red) to battery and relay, connected green wire to green/blue wire in OS headlamp, connected black to a headlamp fixing point as an earth and connected the blue wires to the lamps.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm thinking it may be because The lamps aren't earthed individually but I can't see how I would earth them because the bulb only has one wire coming off it. Its an h3 bulb. Am I missing something?
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
Adam

Hi mate! They look awesome! I wanted black ones to match my aero grille, found some on ebay for £6.99 + delivery, £30 for brackets, £8 for wiring. Will get some pics upwhen I'm finished!

Use this link for details on wiring. The earth is achieved through the bracket so good contact is required.

The wire for high beam is the Yellow one with a Blue Tracer that goes into the back of the O/S headlamp. On mine I also have seperate earths on both lamps that go to the mounting brackets and also another earth cable that goes to the N/S bonnet hinge earth stud. Sounds like you've picked out the wrong high beam feed.

Careful when wiring Wipacs up to the relays for your existing headlights guys I did this on my 03 cooper and it fried them because the ECU had not been reprogrammed to compensate for them, ended up having them wired up to a separate switch that I fitted under the headlight level dial
