Question I Need Help With my White High Level Brake light

Hi Guys,

Can any one help?

I have fitted white Brake lights to my cooper with chilli pack.

But i have the roof spoiler and cannot see how to fit the high level one.

As far as i can see i have to remove the roof spoiler first?

Can any one help?

Thanks

Darren

Hey Darren,

You'll have to lift the spoiler a bit to fot the brake light.
Be carefull not to use any sharp tools.
Take out the screws and push with hand to lift the spoiler.
Than you can fit th brakelight.
The spoiler is glued on the roof but is very flexiable.

Good luck.

undo all three bolts holding spoiler on.

obviously you have to undo the screws holding the brake light next.

push the spoiler upwards with a bit of force at one side, use only enough force to create a gap which you can slide a credit card underneath to break the double sided tape (very strong).

You only have to break the tape from underneath the spoiler half way along it's length, this will allow you enough space when you (gently) bend the spoiler at the unstuck side to allow removal of the old (and boring) red light and the fitment of the new (and cool) light.

The old tape seems strong enough to reseal when refitting the spoiler.

Important notice: be careful with the nuts on the spoiler, don't cross thread them or drop them into the cavity in the boot lid (nightmare)

((((maybe this thread could be put in the 'How To' section for future ref.?)))

I seem to recall the third bolt being right in the middle of the boot...You have to pull out the drain plug like piece before you can get to it.

Is it possible that since clear lights are now an option that mini has gone to only two bolts for the spoiler?

I have a long post with detailed directions...trying to find it now. I'll repost with the link when I find it.

PM me if you have any more questions.
