How do I remove badge

I'm putting black bonnet and boot stripes on my Liquid Yellow Cooper. How do i remove the Cooper badge so as to get the right side boot stripe on? And if i do, how do I get it back on afterwards?

Or, do you think, I should stop that stripe above the badge and start it again below?
All advice and opinions most welcome!

Cheers Dave

Most people use a hair dryer and floss heat the badge up then use the gloss to pull it away, Then clean up the glue from under the badge. If also seen people do it with business cards. I did mine with floss. Dint take to long

What Jordan210 said, PLUS:

No, do take the time to remove the badges and put the stripes on rather than leave a gap, it will look do much better.

To refit the badges you can either:

1. Remove all traces of the damaged two sided tape and visit a motor spares shop where exactly the same stuff is sold on rolls. It's a thick, double sided, black foam adhesive tape. This will take ages to do so that it looks good as the self adhesive tape has to be cut exactly to shape.

OR

2. Buy a completely new badge! This is going to be the best idea as brand new and unused ones always used to be available on eBay for not a lot.

Yellow Cooper

you were right! Badge came off easily with dental floss, and stripes went ona breez. Same badge reapplied, using exterior double sided tape which wasnt hard to cut and trim.
Thanks! Looks the business!

I was going to say, that the dealer took mine off for nothing and I didn't even buy my car from them - unbeatable. Still, you've done it now!
