You could just buy the DIY add on LED's - just order the amount you wish to add. So to make your halos 4 led you will need 2 extra per lamp=4, to make them 6 led you will need 8

For DIY upgrading the older original dim blue Halo sidelights made by Ultra which sometimes fail MOT's for being too blue and or dim (and if you are happy with the standard 2 LED bulbs per unit) the following upgrade worked well for me :-

To make them brighter and whiter, fit the following replacement LED bulbs (2 per sidelight) :-
Prism LED Bulbs 12V T10 Wedge (bubble pack of 2 is £9.99 in Halfords) part no. LED501 4W (W = White, 4 = 4 x LED)
Side & Tail 4 LED - White - Vehicle Lighting > Styling/Prism Bulbs > 12v Prism LED Bulbs
Manufactured by Ringautomotive.co.uk
Note: you can see 4 LEDs in end of the bulb rather than 1 LED in the standard dimmer type.

To make them brighter and keep the blue tint, fit the following replacement LED bulbs (2 per sidelight)
Prism LED Bulbs 12V T10 Wedge (bubble pack of 2 is £9.99 in Halfords) part no. LED501 4B (B = Blue, 4 = 4 x LED)
Side & Tail 4 LED - Blue - Vehicle Lighting > Styling/Prism Bulbs > 12v Prism LED Bulbs
Manufactured by Ringautomotive.co.uk
Note: you can see 4 LEDs in end of the bulb rather than 1 LED in the standard dimmer type.

To fit the new LED bulbs just pull out the 2 black rubber bulb holders from behind each unit in situ and replace the existing push-in LED bulbs, if any don't light up just turn the bulb around in the holder and it will.

I have fitted the white Prism LED bulbs above, they show up well in daylight conditions and am sure they will pass the MOT with no problems now.

I decided to try and make my halo lights brighter.
I ordered 4 of these bulbs 501 LED Extreme Power 1.5W 360 degree
They worked out at about £25.00.
My lights were very dim with the standard bulbs in and i did not really want to start drilling holes etc, so i just wanted the brightest bulbs i could find.
Here are the bulbs

The photographs are not that good, the next picture, the left light has the standard bulbs fitted and the right one has 2 of the new bulbs

This picture has new bulbs in both sides

The lights look a lo brighter when it is dark

The lights would be better with the 4 bulbs in each light' but this is the easier way to do the mod.

Assume they fit no problem in the Halo sidelights??

Yes, the 360 degree type LEDs fit the Halos but can get stuck in when you pull out the rubber holder, which means removing the whole light unit to extract it with long nose pliers. They are also more expensive and not as bright as the 4 x LED Prism bulbs available from Halfords when I compared them a couple of days ago. I think because all 4 leds face forwards on the Prism bulbs. (See previous posts and pics from mini33 for full details).
Try them, brighter and smaller :-
Prism 4 LED White Bulb 501 from Halfords Price £9.99 3 For 2 on Selected Car Styling Products
