How do i get to my fog light bulbs???

Hi All,

Ive got a R50 51 plate mini cooper (non S). i need to change one of my fog light bulbs at the bottom of my bumper but cant seem to see a way of getting to them, its probably easy and im just being stupid but if you could help that would be great cheers.

One way is to remove the wheel, then the 4 plastic rivets/screws on the front of the wheel liner, pull it back , and reach in there This is the easier way.
You may need some extra rivets/screws (cheap), as they get messed up easily.
Another way is to simply take the bumper cover off - it's not as hard as you'd think, just a lot of fasteners, some bulb connectors
and the outside temperature probe to deal with.

Thanks for this mate realy helpful so would you say the easy one is the removal of the wheel? as both of these sound time taking

You can do this without removing the wheel by turning the steering all the way to one side, and using a screwdriver that's not too long,
there's just a little less room that way.

The first way is easier, but tighter access to the fog light bulb connector and bulb.
The second way is more involved, but easier to get at the back of the fog light.

Thanks alot i shall give the easier way first and then if i struggle i will wack the bumper off and do it that way cheers
