Gap between bonnet and front bumper on R53 Aero Kit

I have read through many threads fro this but none seem to have the exact problem I do. Basically on the passenger side where the bonnet catch shuts it leaves a gap of about an inch between the bumper and the bonnet.

I have tried adjusting the catch for the bonnet to see if this is the problem but it doesn't seem to work. The bumper is level so that is not the issue, just the bonnet will not allign correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I have a R53 with aero bumper and only have about 5-6mm gap between bumper and bonnet. Are you sure the clips and brackets on the bumper haven't been bent at some point due to bumping the front end some how? An inch is definitely far too much. Also do you have a strut brace fitted?

Thanks for the quick response. an inch may be an exaggeration. Its probably three quarters of an inch or even half. Either way its not flush. The bumper is fine but the bonnet won't shut properly on one side. It does go in the catch but leaves this hideous gap.

Any more info on this?

The bumper does not impact the bonnet, however the driver side (UK) of the bumper can be raised (it seems the clips are not engaging). The clips on the passenger side are locked in.

Looks like about 15 mm gap between the arch and front bumper. The bumper seems secure, however would feel more comfortable with the arches and front bumper being flush.

I HATE SPEED BUMPS!
