replacement of aerial

some little t**t has nicked the aerial off my car, replacement is £18, but I've got a feeling they will nick it again.

thought about locktite or superglue but been advised if they cant unscrew it they will rip it off or bend it.

so I've been looking at getting a shark fin aerial, my questions

1) how do I remove the existing base ?
2) which connector do i need on the shark fin?
3) is it possible to get a clear signal, at the moment its fine with out the aerial mast, but looks strange without the mast?
4) i dont mind leaving it black, but how hard it it to spray to colour code it, my car is electric blue?

Thanks romil

Here's a link that might be helpful. Good luck.

thanks for the link, no cover on mines, got a panaramic sun roof, does someone know how to release the rear part of the roof lining enough for me to gain access to the aerial, also is it an amplified aerial or just normal? I want to have all the parts i need to hand before I start stripping the roof lining away.

does the aerial plug into the loom in the roof or further down the car, as most shark fins only come with 10cm of wire, I'm guessing it plugs in some where and does not run straight to the head unit?

TIA Romil
