corner piece of the plastic ring on roof

Does anybody know what is the name of the corner piece of the plastic ring on the roof?

Mine is missing and I want to find one to put it on.
Any suggestion to where to get it in the US is also appreciated.

I think it is call gutter trim above A-pillar or corner piece above A-pillar?
Any suggestion to get it without buying the whole set gutter kit?

Hey,

Recently replaced one of these on my Cooper S - purchased on ebay...

ebay.co.uk/itm/280754606372?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p398 4.m1497.l2649

I'm not sure of the "official" name, but if you head to RealOEM.com and enter your VIN number, you should be able to track the part down (if you can't find it on ebay that is)

Hope that helps,

what is the name of the ebay seller? I can not open the page you provided.

Did not have luck at realoem.com either. Drilled down to different parts in vehicle trim but still find that piece.

The above link should've looked like this: Mini Cooper (01-06) Drivers Side Roof Rail Corner Trim | eBay

I'd probably call it the "roof trim corner piece" or something? Have you tried speaking to your local MINI dealer? Based on the eBay listing, this part can be ordered separately ("My car didn't come with one so I purchased 2")?

The closest thing I can find on RealOEM is here: RealOEM.com BMW R53 Cooper S External rear moldings

It isn't very clear though, and everything is referred to as "rear" mouldings. I'd guess at piece 11, but it doesn't look like the actual part, and it's listed 6 times (I suppose front and rear, left and right - but why 6, and why is it all categorized under "rear mouldings"?)

I'd save a copy of the picture from the eBay listing and email that to your dealer... seems like the clearest way to get a part number and price with minimal confusion!

Another option would be to find a MINI which is being broken for parts, as this part is likely to be intact and won't be something which whoever is breaking it is actively looking to sell...

After searching for a month I still can't get one.
The seller on Ebay only has one.
Today at the car wash the water gets into the car from the missing part. Frustrating!
Any info about the part number or where to buy one is appreciated.

Try these, UK Mini 'used' spares specialists but they will usually ship overseas:

BMW MINI Spares - Home

www.bmminiparts.com - Home

or in USA:

I know this must be an irritating question as you've got the part missing but it might help too. I think I have a leak from where this part clips on - past the weather proofing washer that I guess must have split (I guess yours may have too)

So before I just yank on a piece of plastic that could be difficult to replace, how do you get the corner off without wrecking it so I can check the fixing?

Thanks

I did not get it off.
I just woke up one day and found it is gone...

Yes, sorry I got that I'd come off on it's own I was hoping to find out how you deliberately get it off without busting it, putting me in the position of having to source one too.

There's a thread on about the fixing and how it fails leading to leaks like the one you described and I have, it won't let me post the link but you might want to take a look at the white fixing and the fibre washer behind it.

Take a look for a thread "Leaking Roof - Cant find the source " from Jan '07

Thanks Dave.
The white peg he mentioned in his pics is still there...
So hopefully I can just put the piece in like that.
bmminiparts.com has the whole "roof modeling". The price is not bad, but the shipping from UK to US is double the price of the part...

I am debating...
