eBay Replica Aero Kit

I'm on the lookout for an aero kit for my car.

As I was searching eBay, I came across a seller selling a replica aero kit. I've seen this for months on eBay and never thought the prices were genuine. The description mentions some adaptation may be necessary before fitting. I'm not very handy in that way so hoping that's either not the case or only slightly.

Here's the link: MINI COOPER S JCW LOOK 2001-2007 FULL BODY KIT | eBay

£180 for the full kit is obviously very cheap. Is that for a reason? Probably.

Has anyone had any experience with this kit or seller in the past, as if there's a decent reputation (although eBay feedback would prove otherwise) I'd be interested in getting the kit.

Any advice appreciated.

Wouldn't touch it/him with a very long barge pole to be honest, it will probably cost you a lot of extra ££££ to get a body shop to get it to fit, at least he admits it needs a pro to fit it.

The feedback for this years transactions alone send the warning bells ringing.

You can pick up 'real' front & rear aero bumpers on eBay & other MINI forums fairly easily, the side skirts have always been more difficult to get hold of though.

Join all the forums & keep your eyes peeled on the classifieds

As has been suggested, get your trainers on and run away as fast as you possibly can! Irrespective of what they are selling, a seller on eBay with that number of negative feedback's in such a short space of time should be avoided at all costs. Unless you are going to pick an item up and paying in cash I wouldn't touch someone like that.

Then there is the matter of it being a replica kit; these just simply don't fit anywhere near as good as the real thing. Anything that is 'pattern' or 'replica' parts will require a bodyshop to spend hours cutting and filling to get it to look even half decent.

I bought a full US spec JCW kit on eBay about a year ago and paid £600 for it. That included the front and rear bumper, the skirts and grills, and all the extra bits needed - so they do come up from time to time. Just have patience and keep trawling eBay and the forums...
