Cabrio roof wont open

hi Guys, i have a 2004 covertable, and the other day the roof packed up. It wont open at all. I took the cover off the centre roll bar and I can see the motor spinning when I press the down button but the roof just dosnt budge. I tried manually releasing the clamps that hold the roof to the front screen surround but once again, the motor spins but nothing happens. Do the cables snap on these or something? Any input most welcome

Regards
Ben

After months of bad weather here in the UK, today was perfect for some rooft down action.

When I tried to open my roof it started flashing red. After about 3 attempts at re-adjusting the rear parcel shelf, voila.
You will notice a small button where the shelf sits on the left hand side near the lever which widens the entry gap. Make sure that button is pushed down by the shelf or it won't work.

Would that not just stop the roof actually folding away completely though? I would have thought the slide back part should still operate though. As I say the motor is working like its trying to pull the roof back to its fist stage but nothing happens. And yes today was a fantastic day for a bit of top down action

Unfortunately I have the same problem, and yes the cables do snap, if you are good with your hands there is a video on YouTube of how to fix, it's not the best video and looks extremely complicated. I'm have 2 quotes of nearly 1000. If you get any cheaper or find an alternative let me know
