| MINI headlights question Do the dipped lights extinguish when the main beams are lit as happens on some cars? If not, having main beams (especially Xenons), dips and fogs all on at once must be rather bright on an unlit road? morrisminiminor |

| The fog lights will turn off when the main beams turn on (at least in the U.S. and probably everywhere else as well) because of course if you are using your main beams, then there can't be any fog ![]() In the MINI the main beams and dipped beams are different bulbs. So when you turn on the main beams, the dipped beams will remain on. For HID (xenon) equipped cars, only the dipped beams are xenon. The main beams are standard halogen bulbs. |
