cheap(er) clear side indicators

Just a quick one, i wanted clear side indicators for my black cooper. So i went to minisport, padiham - £28 i was told...hmmm, i thought, a tad pricey.

So, as the coop was in for 1st service yesterday, i asked at williams mini garage, manchester - £17.something! No way, i thought, a genuine BMW part that is CHEAPER than an aftermarket product!

So i purchased them, and they fitted them for free whilst it was in. Excellent service. I know its only a tenner, but it all adds up!

Just thought id let you know...

BMW products can be a tad pricy!

It's always best to wait and look around after being told a price for something.

The same thing happened to me with the rear white lights. I was told it would be over $1000.00 after installation. I waited because I thought it was a bit pricy. Now turns out they're on sale for $750.00 after installation!!!

Getting them fitted at the end of the month... along with the new pedals!

Cool

rear whites are cool! Actually it seems like yours are almost the same price after taking conversion rates into account. Mine were £350ish dealer fitted on delivery.

Looks like Mini Sport are buying them from BMW and then putting their own mark up on them

You got a good deal - I think 350ish is the going rate at BMW dealers. Actually I realised that this was off-subject. I posted on rears but the subject is sides.

Clear Side Markers, Clear Front Wheel Well Markers

We can get the Cooper S clear side lens fairly easily now as the OEM product, or aftermarket, BUT I can't find any alternative for the ugly amber market in the wheel well.

Does anyone know a source?

It could clear, or a better choice might be smoked grey or black to blend in with the black plastic there.

Thumbs up

I think you were very lucky to get your clear side indicators @ £17 and I am pritty sure Williams have under charged you and the price of £17 is for one side! well that's what I paid for mine from the local BMW dealer well done. I have had a few bits from Mini Sport for my Cooper S and found the service from them to be exellent and they have some really tasty bits as well

[b]I have to agree with oz1275. I was also charged £17.00 per side. Allegedly, BMW have to sell these in pairs, but have them priced singly on their system. Looks like Kooper got lucky with a dopey salesman!!
Mini Sport are only a few minutes drive from where I am and if you want to see the potential of the new mini, you've got to check out their demonstrator.
