To Stripe Or Not To Stripe (that is the question)

I took posession of my lovely Indi blue/black 'S last month and love it . Recently had a light window tint which has blended really well with the black roof.
I'm contemplating black bonnett stripes, with the white piped edge but am unsure re. the contrast
Any opinions/photos?
I'd appreciate any help.

Sorry guys, I'm not mad about the viper stripes. Really want to keep the retro' feel to MINI..............having been a big fan (and still am) of the original.
Dark silver bonnett stripes sound good though, any photos out there??

I was contemplating this as well. Keep a clean look or stripe the car? I eventually wanted to distinguish my car more from the "stockers" so I just ordered my stripes the other day and should have them in soon.

FYI, I went with the Shadow Grey viper stripes. They look nice and are just noticeable, but not overly. I guess I found a perfect medium to my dilema. I get the stripes, but then again, it won't be too loud so it'll still help retain a clean look on my dark silver S... I hope. can't really tell from that 1 pic i've seen all over.

Anyways, that was my other dilema.. viper or traditional mini cooper bonnet stripes (more wide spread)? Traditional is cool and really relates to the old school look.

I have some points which finally personally convinced me to go with viper stripes
1) They're a little more different. Standard bonnet stripes are cool, but I can find them easily. If I see stripes on a cooper, it'll be the usual black or white stripe.
2) I'm in the US. It seems that the viper stripes are more commonly seen on US autos and power cars. Viper, Corvette, Ford GT40, old muscles cars, etc... So, I guess I wanted to represent my home in this indirect way.
3) Viper stripes look a little more aggressive. I know this is a totally different car, but "Eleanor" from Gone in 60 Seconds (most recent version with N. Cage) looked so sweet with that dark metallic paint job and viper stripes. I'm hoping to envoke similar feelings from my car.

Lastly, maybe consider an alternative stripe "spacing" Maybe wider than the standard bonner stripes, maybe something inbetween that and viper stripes, or offset them to your own measurements as you see fit.

oh, yeah! for bonnet stripe color choices, I like the suggestion of white or silver.. and maybe dark silver (if it's the right shade). Those seem to look the best on the IB, but if you want something louder, i guess a red or yellow? I recommend red stripe with white borders, or yellow stripes with black borders. It'll stand out nicely on an IB body color. Now that'll be something different. You just have to be sure you can pull of the color combos and not clash hues.

I find the question is not "to stripe or not to stripe," but "how to stripe." I think the red stripes would look cool on a yellow car and yellow stripes on a red car. Cooper Flags will pretty much provide you with whatever colors you want (no affiliation - just happy customer). It is not difficult to do. You just need a little patience and some attention to detail.
