headlight wiring identification Since my lovely new MC has big fat sun visors and my garage door opener doesn't fit, I'm installing a Flash2Pass transmitter. This gizmo splices into the high beam on your headlights and when you flash the headlights twice, ****!, the garage door opens. (Its actually a radio transmitter and has nothing to do with the flashy part, that's just how it gets powered.) Anyway, I need to splice into the ground and high beam line on my MC. This is the standard US headlight unit (not Xenon). There are three lines going to the assembly, marked as brown, white with green stripe and yellow with green stripe. Which one's which? If I were guessing, I'd think the brown was the ground, white for normal and yellow for high beams. Unfortunately, there's no exposed metal in the connector to check with a volt meter. Anybody have real schematics? I got a transmitter all wired up in my wife's Accord and it seems to work, but it was a pain to get to. The mini's headlight's are slightly more accessible. tia, jay

On the Xenon MCS the yellow w/green chaser is the high beam wire. There's a good chance it's the same so as not to get a mechanic confused when he's working on different models. -- '03 S B/W

Confirmed. The yellow with green tracer is the high beam line with brown as ground. Presumeably, that leaves white with green tracer as the main headlamp feed. thanks, jay

Check out RealOEM.com, you first need to scroll down in the list of BMWs to the listing for MINIs, then just select your model, the follow the prompts for info on your specific MINI, then select Vehicle Electrical System and you get a series of diagrams for the main harness and all the associated parts, sub-harnesses etc. Good luck
