Stains on my Bonnet Stripes

I have a British Racing Green MCS with the white roof and white bonnet stripes. Recently I went away for a week and left my Mini covered up in my driveway. When I came back, I noticed lots of nasty yellow dropping on some sort all over my covered bonnet. I removed the cover to find that the yellow stuff had soaked through the cover and left yellow stains on my bonnet stripes. I washed my car and tried hard to get the stains out, but it wasn't working. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might remove the stains? If it was on my roof I could use a polishing compound or a clay bar, but would that be safe for the vinyl stripes? Needless to say, I will not be parking my Mini in the same spot again. I should probably also look into getting a better cover that would keep stuff from soaking through. Anyway, does anyone know what I should do here? Thanks.

i'd trot along to your nearest car graphics company & let them take a look. did it look organic (ie animal droppings) or chemical?
