Xenon Lights.. How much?

Does anyone know how much they are? And how much it would be to get them fitted?

Ordered the Mini without the Xenons cos I didnt think it would be worth it but just got a new BMW 530 witht the Xenons and Adaptive Headlights and the improved visibility is unbelievable so Im wanting the Xenon on my Mini now.

Cheers

Bryce

If I recall, to retrofit, it's about £350 a side, £700 in all, you'll need to check with your dealer for sure. It's about twice the cost of having them from the factory at least.

Retrofits are always expessive unfortunately, but perhaps some of the money can be recoope by tossing the ones you remove onto the for sale section here on M2 or eBay

^ Yeh good thinking

What about Halogen bulbs? Is that the next step up from "normal" lights but not as great as the Xenons?

They're halogen to start with, but upgrading to some good Osram or Philips bulbs will help too. And be MUCH cheaper.

What kinda price are we talking for better bulbs here then? It's the "getting them fitted" thats the expensive bit isn't it?

Btw, thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated

Retro fitting Xenons is a right Ba*#trd of a job, not just swapping the lamp units, theres some cabling and Body Controller work as well, thats why its not very cost effective.
Go for new bulbs first, then spots, if still no good, buy a car with Xenon already on.

England Retrofitting Xenons

Following a mistake at the factory I have just picked up my car with the Xenons retrofitted. don't know the cost of the hardware but the cost of fitting is £900.

Also successfully had the spacesaver wheel retrofitted.

You'd feel really guilty deep down inside.

Wouldn't you?

I'd wait until the new car comes and live with it a while before getting into a big-buck retrofit program.

Xenon performance varies a lot from car to car and just because you really like Xenons on one car is not a guarantee that it will make the same difference on another. And there are some here who think the Xenons on the Mini aren't very good. Drive with the halogens a while and see if they are acceptable. You may be happy enough and find that you'd much rather spend the money on something else.

Nah, I disagree.
The Xenons on the Mini are sweet just as you are suspecting, bryce03.
