I’ve always wanted to fit the upper & lower grill that comes with the Aero kit - the black mesh-type. Does anyone out there know if its possible to buy the two parts separately from the aero kit AND fit to a MINI without the aero kit?
if so then where can i buy said parts?? What kinda prices are we talking?
Yes to both questions. Just contact your dealer to get them in.
Youll have to check the prices - I dont know what they'd be in pounds. Plenty of people here from UK with the aero kit, someone will be able to tell you.
i have the grill for sale as i didnt fit it to my cooper aero kit. left the chrome on. The lower part is on my kit but will be comin off very shortly if you want em.
I am also going to buy the Aero grille tomorrow, was just wondering if its the kind of thing the dealer usually has in stock or would it have to be ordered in?
the grill doesnt need cutting or anything, the top half is brand new, the lower half has been on the car but is in perfect condition. i dont know how much it retails for but i'd prolly take about £30
I tried fitting this to my MCS but the lower part does not fit on the standard MCS bumper!! it would need cutting down and bonding on as none of the clips line up!!
This is a nice mod to do, see previous threads on the subject. The top half is straightforward if you're vaguely DIY proficient, I haven't sorted the bottom half yet because my Dremel is still MIA...
The lower grill needs to be fitted but it's not as hard as it seems...
The best way to do it is to take your time (around 4-6 hours) and be patient! I did it with a friend and it was pretty easy but it's quite long. It requires custom fitting. The result is worth it!
In the 2004 MINI Motoring Accessories booklet, it lists the grilles as follows:
BONNET GRILLE - BLACK $51.25
FRONT BUMPER GRILLE - BLACK (TOP) $37.25
I'm thinking of just ordering from the dealer as well. Although, there is a note next to the FRONT BUMPER GRILLE saying that it requires Aero Kit front apron. I wonder if this means that you can only order it if you order the front apron.... anyone know?
