Question Xenons, chrome indicator bulbs, parking lights....grrrr

This is starting to bug me a little, I ordered xenons with my cooper, I love them, there almost my fave part of the whole car, but, when I have my my regular driving lights on underneath bulbs look kind of yellow in comparison, also, again with my driving lights on, I fitted chrome indicator bulbs (which flash orange btw) my indicators aren't as obvious as they should be. Is there any solution to this or do I have to just stop being a perfectionist and deal with it?

I think you've got to deal with it - but still be a perfectionist

I feel the same, the light thrown off from the xenon's is fantastic, but it puts the light thrown off by the side lights to shame. Have you also noticed that the colour of the light thrown off by full beam is yellow in comparison to the normal dipped?

Whilst on the subject of lights, but changing tack slightly, why is it that when you've got side lights only on, and you wash your windows, the headlights get washed? It doesn't take a genius to work out that they should only be washed when they're actually on!!

As far as your chromed bulbs go, I can't comment coz I've not got them, but I'd be interested to know if they are causing a problem as I'm thinking of changing my rear lights, and I was thinking of changing to chromed bulbs at the same time.

I bought new side lights from www.powerbulbs.com. Philips Blue vsion W5W sidelights as they match up with the xeons much better. I also have clear indicator bulbs that I got off Ebay for £9. The above site also does them though for £14.75 and will post worldwide for free. Indicators are Osram Diadem. Indicator performance is as good as original.

Hope that help to keep your perfection levels up.

Cheers for that, I've just ordered a couple of the blue vision side lights. Not much expense to keep my perfection level topped up

I'm not gonna decide on the indicator bulbs till I've decided what rear light cluster I'm gonna go for, but it's good to know that there's an alternative to the chromed out there,

The full beam on the xenons is a standard halogen H7 bulb - replace it with the phillips blue ones to make it in line with your dipped xenons.

Thanks for the advice, I'll order some to add to my side lights - I'll have an all-white front end yet

Avoid the blue visions and get some LED sidelights from newministuff.com

They match the Xenons perfectly.....

Blue Vision side lights (5w5) don't really match the Xenon lamps... too bad.
