Hi there i was wondering will this aero grill kit fit a mini one?

Also could anyone give me some websites were i can buy this grille kit from?

Are there any Aero grilles which are pre-cut so you dont have 2 cut them with a dremmel or any gerilles which are similar which fit without having 2 use a dremmel!

thanks cole !

Hi All,

Just fitting the upper JCW grille to the bonnet of my R53 Cooper S. I have taken the old one off, but the thread on the JCW is different so I'm not sure how you secure it to the bonnet?

I have attached a pic, any advice is much appreciated.

Billystar, you have to force the locking nut things on, I pushed and twisted with my fingers to get it started, once you get it started just do it up normally. The nut will make its own thred on the plastic part. I`m a mechanic and i must admit, i was expecting something a bit better from BMW on this, just seemed a bit cheap to me.

Just a note on the bottom part, i didnt bother getting a 50 quid dremmel, i used a £10 coping saw to cut away the sections, then a 1.5mm drill bit and screw driver to make the holes in the bumper. Just drilled a series of holes and then used a hammer and screw driver to knock it through. I didnt even take the bumper off to do this any of this.

Im just about to attempt it now, didnt realise it was such a big job....
Cant even get the nuts off yet.....
oh well, perseverance
Think I might just stick the bottop part on, rather than cut holes in the bumper.

I bought a Replica Aero grille for about £60 which doesn't need any modifications to fit a R50/R53 bumper, and also no cutting involved for fitting spots! (Which I'm very happy about, just done this today).
Overall, took me about three hours to change the bonnet section and bumper section of the grille.
Didn't realise at first I would have to remove the bumper!
