Pics wanted of black ultra lights & a question

Does anyone have a pic of the black ULTRA lights on their mini? I would also like to see pics of the black bumper inserts front and back if anyone can oblige

edit: Do these lights simply swap over for the existing lights on my 2003 mini ONE? There seems to be an extra light in there???

Mikeythemini do you know

There is no extra light, I'd put my money on that being the reflector.

They simply swap over quite easily, there is a guide in the FAQ iirc!

Ahh,

I didn't think about the reflector... I thought you only needed a seperate reflector if the the entire light unit had no red within it (like the white light kit)?

Could you post a link to the faq as I'm having trouble finding it in the FAQ section above

Cheers

Jonathan

All of the red surround is reflective on the standard lights, the three round lights being the brake/tail lights, the indicators and the fog lamps. With those new ones you've posted the surround is black and non reflective, so the reflector has to be added seperately

Sorry, but wouldn't the clear one be the indicator? Remember that its not an 05 spec car or lamps

I think you'll find:

Top red one - fog
Middle clear one - indicator
Middle Red one - reflector
Bottom one - brake

They look great on dark coloured cars Indi Blue and Black are the best colour for these lights IMO

Personally I'm not hot on it on the IB, but on the black it'd look OK.

Although the aftermarket lights arn't personally my thing.

I do like the solid black look more but I'm not sure how the police would view them over here

Also, someone mentioned that you might have a difficult time if someone ran into the back of you and said that they couldn't see your brake lights very well.... not a conversation I would really like to get into

ButtonIt, the fact that they aren't too 'lexusy' is also a big draw for me. From the angle you showed, they look like they have a lot of chrome but from straight on they look quite black and smart. The main thing is that they don't have the chrome surround like the regular lights.

Make sure you get some silver tec bulbs to get rid of the
horrible orange glow the standard indicator bulb gives off,
flashes orange but when not in use is silver!

See pic, sorry they are not the black ones but you get the idea!

Thanks for the tip Nick, I will do.

Those lights look great on your car. How much did you pay for yours?

£149 pound, but have to admit i did get the silver tec bulbs
free with the deal. You can get the lights cheaper, but thought what
the hell as the bulbs would have been about £9.00 anyway.

Make sure you get the bulbs though, as you will get v ****ed off with
the horrible orange glow from the bulb.
