Mini stopping power

i have had a Tune-it fitted to my mini for a year now as well as a miltex de-cat exhaust (which sounds great for a diesel) and a K&N induction kit and it all works fantastic and has made a big difference in performance 0-60 in 9.4

I recently took it to a track day and suffered a little from brake fade so i was wondering if the brakes on a cooper S or a JCW are any better than the standard ones and would be an easy bolt-on? AP-racing big brake kit is a little bit to much for me.

My 3 bits of advice.

1. Use better pads (Carbotech XP8s or 10s) in the R56 brakes (very similar and basically interchangable with R53 JCW brakes).

2. Upgrade to the new JCW 4 pot R56 calipers and pads etc.... don't worry about the rears, if you want to save a coup of quid.

3. Upgrade to a really big set like Porshe, AP, brembo

On any of these the change to really good track orientated pads such as the Carbotechs will make a huge difference. Carbotechs are stocked by a number of suppliers inclding ThinkMINI the site sponser (see if they do them in R56 sizes?)

Got all the mods above on my mini d , The JCW GEN 2 brakes work well . watch out for the tunit box as it will eat your diesel pump up and brake your cam !
