help with how to change oil and filter mini one d

I have always let my mechanic do the oil and filter change at around 6k miles and then every other service the air filter as well.

I want to have a go at doing it on my own, I cant find the oil filter, and basically would like a step by step guide to doing this job.

Also do I need to buy any special tools


It is a 2005 R50 mini one D

Haynes MINI Manual only covers petrol, the MINI One D is powered by the same 1.4-litre common-rail diesel engine fitted to the Toyota Yaris D-4D. Looks quite straight forward to change oil/filter on the Yaris forums.
