The interior is great, looks way nicer than the standard One, the seat fabric is much better. The paint colour is OK, I'd rather have had some choice but it's not too bad and the alloys are nice too.
Insurance is one group higher than the standard One so watch out, some companies wanted an extra £200 to cover it!
The only downside is the price, it's pretty much the same as a Cooper with a/c but you do get lots of nice little bits the Cooper is missing. I'm really pleased with mine
i absolutely love mine! the colour is great because its just that little bit different and you won't see too many of the same colour about! the whels are the only downside- some of the grooves make tham very hard to clean
and by the way, i got my bonnet stripes specially made, they're silver with a fine black outline, and they go really well with the decals on the seven! the interior is just a little bit more quirky with the rings on the dash too!
I can't wait to see one in the flesh for a proper look at the colour... in fact, aside from the Indi Blue I have now, red is the only colour I've ever wanted. I figured it would be a bit more individual in this new shade compared to the Chilli red.
Personally thought the price was good for what you're getting...
I take it the drive/handling is just like a regular ONE...no added extras?
the gearbox will feel different to yours, I prefer the new box, but some people prefer the old Midlands gearbox which you currently have, well I am guessing its a pre-facelift car if you have high miles and indi blue
It has traction control but otherwise it should be the same as a standard One to drive. I guess the price is good considering all the extras you get, although I wouldn't have bothered ordering passenger seat height adjusstment, the interior light package or the storage pack if it was my choice.
I found the gearbox quite hard work when I first got my ONE compared to my Fiesta (God Rest Her Soul)...it took a while for me to figure out that I needed to drive a bit more like a boy racer and now me and the gearbox are getting on just fine. I guess defensive driving and MINI don't really go together
Is the newer gearbox more or less blokey?
As for the age of my baby blue, well, a lady doesn't usually say, but she's '01 (and not showing her age) and we fell in love in Feb '05. Have just cranked up another 900 miles this week, so that ONE 7 is a little further off
If any one can see their way to posting a really good sized picture I can have as a desktop I might even get rid of the lovely Cristiano Ronaldo...
Put my deposit down on wednesday for a new Mini One Seven, with chrome-line exterior! I can't wait, but i have to - til June!!! Im going back to uni and can't have it til then. Never mind, it should be worth the wait.
I found some cool pics of the seven on the gallery section of this site, there's also some good ones on the Mini website.
I wasn't keen on the colour at first, the pictures don't do it any justice. Saw one at the dealer and it looks brilliant, much deeper red than the standard chili red. I was won over by the gloss black dash and sills too!
Having seen one on the metal, it's much less orange than I had imagined. Maybe it's just me, but I thought the original press photos made the Solar Red look quite orange? The one I saw was much more red though, quite a rich, deep red - not bad!
the colour changes depending on what the light is like!
it's a gorgeous wee car, i absolutely love mine
the shiny dash is lovely, but someone scratched mine
also, something to watch- it may be worth your while getting an extra set of mats! the mats that come with the car are also limited edition (someone burnt mine even though there's no smoking in my car, but i was quoted around the £160 mark for a new set) and it's worth while keeping them good!
Got my One Seven delivered last Tuesday 450 miles down so far, and I'm absolutely loving it. Can't wait until the running-in period is over.
Got rid of a new-shape Golf TDI for this. Have to admit I was worried beforehand, but needn't have been; it's so much more entertaining and I never really needed the extra space.
Love the colour (my camera phone thinks it's orange, but trust me it isn't), and the interior looks very classy with the piano black dash. Very glad I specified the chrome line interior which really sets it off.
A relative in the States just bought a Cooper S. Noticed that over there you can specify Solar Red, the delta-spoke wheels and the piano black dash (complete with circles) as options.
Just seen the pics of your new Seven, looks fantastic - the colour's really growing on me now! Mine's coming early june, i can't wait - it'll be my very first MINI.
I notice you've got the chrome-line interior, it does look really neat against the black dash I might have to think about that!
