She Thinks It's Hers - Allow me to explain....

[She Thinks It's Hers]

It started 18 months ago when my dear wife dragged me along to a MINI dealership to look at the new MINI. She thought it was a cool car and she spec'd up a Cooper. But £15,500 was far more money than we could spend on a car.

To cut a long story short, I kept looking around for a 2nd hand MINI and eventually found a Cherished ONE. It had the aircon, alloys and CD player I wanted and was in one of the two colours my wife liked - Indi Blue (the other favourite being Pepper White). Anyway, I bought the car, without her knowing, and presented it on our wedding anniversary. Hence She Thinks It's Hers!!!

Since that time (last June) I've made a few changes. Have a look at my gallery and you can see what I've been up to!

Mod's so far:

• Replaced front grill with '05 Cooper grill
• Replaced front bumper with '05 bumper with chrome line from ebay (was Hot Orange, so had to remove all trim, get sprayed up Indi Blue, then refit trim)
• Replaced amber side indicator repeaters with clear ones
• Sprayed mirror backs Indi Blue (they were matt black)
• Replaced rear bumper with '05 bumper with chrome line, again from ebay (this one was Chili Red, so had to get sprayed again)
• Personalised reg plate, Christmas pressie for wifey

• Have ordered Superchips Bluefin - - can't wait for it to arrive!
• Want to replace black boot handle with chrome one (know any good breakers?)
• Have COOPER badge to go on boot
• Have Nokia Bluetooth kit to fit

Splendid! Did you get yours direct from Superchips? I ordered mine direct last Mon night but not seen it yet. Perhaps I'm just impatient! What was the effect on your insurance, or shouldn't I ask?!

Insurance has gone up about £200

I got mine from Wiltshire Superchips, the guy even come to my work and done it for me! Piece of cake though takes about 10mins, the results don't kick in straight away, well they didn't seem to, But................When they do ECU takes a short time to adjust then the fun begins

£189!!!! Alright for some ! Im 22 (nearly) so my premium was £500. Done lots of mods on my mini one, this one has to be one of the best!! Drop me a message when you get the upgrade done and let me know what you think!

flippin 'ek- my insurance was nearly £900. in all fairness i'd only just passed my test but im gettin on a bit at 24! haha

!! Ive been driving about 5yrs hence it's a bit cheaper, haven't got 5yrs no claims though!

That looks fab!!

When I purchased my car it looked almost identical to yours when it was pre-modded!

The facelift bumpers and all the chrome look brilliant against Indi Blue, I especially like the facelift Cooper grille.

One other cheap little mod I would be tempted to do is change the front indicators to the silvery type, that way no orange shows when they are off. Theres a good front end piccy of mine in my Mods folder which shows this.

All the changes I've done have been parts from breakers and off the internet, there are some great bargains out there. Have a poke around my gallery, I have done a fair bit to my Indi One.

And the best bit - you can't get the facelift bumpers in Indi Blue, so that makes my ONE pretty unique
