10 Mil Drill. Air Box!

Hi there,

Here's a mod for your airbox. I've recently had my wifes One remapped, post remap I fitted a K&N panel filter. Now years ago when I had modded cars I used to drill out the airbox, pre filter, with a 10 mm drill. So I thought what the heck if it goes belly up buy a whole new air intake. So drill in hand I drilled loads of holes in the bottom and left hand side of the airbox. Clean away all the shavings and Bob's your uncle.

Test time! Out on the road you can't really hear it until you pass 2.-3k revs after that it gives a throaty bellow! Sounds absolutely cracking! seems to pick up a wee bit better aswell. You can only really hear when you're accelarating hard, on the M-way it sounds as per normal.

Try it yuo won't be dissapointed.

Sounds absolutely glorious. Not intrusive on normal throttle openings, but on full throttle sounds absolutely gorgeous. Worth a try for anyone who's MO is out of warranty.

Thats a 'blast from the past' used to do that to classic Minis many Moons ago . ah the memories !!!

yep, many moons ago tuning involved scraped knuckles, cups of tea and an understanding wife! Ah those were the days....crap eh!

i just happend to find a cooper s airbox on the floor today and thourght exactly the same

might have to give it ago on mine
