United-Kingdom 2 weeks of new mini one ownership

I have had my new mini one for 2 weeks now.

PS. Piccys to come tomorrow once I do the 1st wash.

Some things I discovered:

1. Comfort window closing via key fob is not possible (dealer confirmed this).

2. No first aid kit & warning triangle (dealer said this is optional)

3. Mini Cus Service rang me yesterday to find out if I have received the welcome pack. I said no. I then rang the dealer, but they say they don't send this, the factory sends this !! Is this pack important ?

4. Whining sound. I have looked at several threads on the forum here, my one suffers from this especially starting off with the steering requiring 1/4 turn or more. Awaiting for the dealer to ring back to book the car in for check up.

cheers

No.4) power steering/don't worry

No.3) my welcome pack didn't come for many, many weeks/don't worry

No.2) no idea about this. kits and triangles are inexpensive and if I needed them I'd buy them.

No.1) gee didn't know they did away with this option, or is it just not offered on the MINI ONE?

1) Yep, always been the case. Via key in door only (or interior switches).
2) Nope. Bit tight, but quite normal.
3) Not really.
4) Electro-hydraulic power steering on the MINI does that, the futher you turn at lower speeds, the more it whines.

Comfort window closing isn't possible, you need to use the keyfob in the door-lock.

First aid kit and warning triangle? Who needs 'em anyway?

Welcome pack - phone MINI customer service, I think it just contains your passport, and other stuff that ain't all that important.

The whining sound is cute! It's 'cos the PAS is electric, rather than the humdrum usual PAS of regular cars. You'll begin to love it, especially on a cold winters morning when you're freezing your nads off - it's comforting!

Well, that's my opinion anyways...

If you have a factory alarm then NEWMINISTUFF sell a gadget that will close the roof and windows off the remote key.

There's no need - every MINI whines (Except the diesel as far as I'm aware)

depends how your doing it?

you dont just put the key in the lock then press the lock button. You have to turn and hold the key there untill everything is shut.
