Unless you can find an understanding dealer this will be a DIY fit, even then you will need a dealer to carry out the remap. Chances are it will void any warranty you may have but again speak to a dealer.
Whether the Sound kit is worth the money or not is very much a matter of opinion to be honest, I love mine. But if your car is out of warranty then aftermarket would definately be the cheapest option, exhaust, induction kit, Blufin.

Don't forget whatever you do there are aftermarket warranties to be had quite cheap.

You can get the filters but not the new box that it comes with...this is a slightly cleverer design than the standard one. I know several folks with this on thier ONEs and they love it...just that little sportier sounding and a littlle raspier from the engine and maybe a touch more responsive....not a big deal of power (if any) to be had from it but at dealer prices its too expensive but if you find one cheap then get it.

Richard I have never met anyone with a Sound Kit on a ONE so don't know the answer to the following question. As there have been a number of enquiries about kits on the ONE recently maybe you could clear it up for me. You're post seems to suggest that you won't get much extra power from the Kit but should the remap not take a ONE to the same as a sound kitted Cooper, or does it not work like that? If it does take you up to the 118-120bhp JCW claim for the Cooper that isn't a bad jump for a ONE.

The sound kit, when put on a One, does not include the remap, so basically you're getting the new airbox, 1 piece JCW exhaust, certificate engine cover, badge etc etc etc

Dealers seem variable on fitting, some have no problem, others will refuse to fit it on the basis of not wanting any comeback.

Therefore it will only add whatever power a new airbox and exhaust would, I've heard claims of 0-3bhp myself.

Sounds great tho, not at all chavvy, just a little more burbly, IMO great mod for someone who doesn't wanna go down the aftermarket induction kit/exhaust route, the same that has been said many times before though, at the end of the day it's your money and your choice!

Cheers dealmaker cleared things up a bit. Personally then I would say it's not the route to go down with a ONE. But surely you just need to find the right dealer for the remap?

The remap can be done on the ONE as it uses the same control unit, as the cooper (with differnet programming) you just need to find somewhere wiling to do it.

I have a doubt!

I have a MTH Tuned Mini One(tuner file) with kn air filter.

Very soon i will be fitting new sparks(NGK iridium) and a JCW exhaust(for the cooper).

Will i be expecting some horsepower gain?

With this mods will i be around the 130bhps?

I use 98ron fuel!

Thanks!

United-Kingdom It Can Be Done !!!!!!!!!!

IT CAN BE DONE AND I KNOW WHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

guys i can confirm that this is more than possiable on a one but you are all right in what you say you must find a dealer willing to put this on but i found better!

the john cooper challange garage near brighton.

  • 2 weeks ago now went and had : the sound kit exhaust with jcw logo
  • A john cooper works induction kit which is the one fitted to the motorsport cars. (although pipercross would do the same thing) this is a performance upgrade as the sound kit airfliter does not give any performance gain. but the induction kit has the same or better sound.
  • The best bit in finding the garage is that they have all the "john cooper works " maps so i have had the cooper works map done and it is Awsome.
see thread http://www.mini2.com/forum/engine-dr...remap-one.html

hope this helps if you would like more info on this please pm or email me and i will always meet you to arrange or show you what has been done.
