Buying a Mini One - Should I Be Worried

just gone and put a deposit on a red mini one 2001...44k, 1 lady owner...cant wait, picking it up friday. long story with a happy ending. went over today at 10am to b told he just sold it, after i just looked it over perfect condition. it was the worst feeling ever. disheartened went looking around at non-Cherished mini, to find low standers and airbag warning lights just looking at me.

got home and had a phone call from Cherished...'bad news for someone else, but good news for you' their pulled out.

It's always a good feeling when there's just one previous owner, it usually means that it's kept someone very happy and 44,000 miles is low for a 2001 car as well.

finally got it, and its everything and more. i love it, best thing i have ever brought or driven.
its in perfect condition only thing that gives it age away is the plates.

hours after i drive home in the worsted rain ive ever see and hiting a river across the M6 at 60, this was the scene.



next thing is some small modifcations over the next few month: chrome bumper trim, cooper s fuel cap and wipe the cassette player out for a nice iphone/ipod connection one.

i would like bonnet stripes but im unsure what color, as the roof is mostly black (sun roof) and the rest is red. i was thinking black, but i may just leave it?

One thing are these chrome bumper trim the same as the official BMW ones.

exactly the same as my MINI without the sunroof, another cheap wee thing that looks better is clear side indicator lenses




Im also thinking about the chrome bumper kit, ive got t he chrome grille and boot handle currently in the post,

clear side indicator lenses is a very nice idear im going to get onto that now.

Your chrome boot handle is it a complet replacement or just a cover.

complete replacement cover off ebay, they do pop up from time to time!
