Mini one maintenance OVERPRICED

Hello!
I'm a proud owner of mini one park lane

I have one question...
Couple of weeks ago I gave my car to official bmw service for regular second service.
They change me all filters and all four brake plates and charge me 600 euro
350 euro for regular second service and rest is brake plates and hands !

I think that is to much !

Can you tell me is it normal price or someone trick me and charge me more!!!

Compared to prices in the UK, I think that's cheap!

I have no idea what your labour charges are over there, though.

In the UK, we have a TLC package that covers regular servicing, but not brakes.

You'd be looking at about £400 for brake discs and pads (which I assume is what you're calling plates and hands) on all four wheels from a UK MINI dealership.

I dont know english word for this but they change me only pads not discs (litle things betwen brake and discs), by the hand's I mean their labour.... usualy they charge parts + labour....

Aaah, OK. The English word for their work is "labour".

Sounds about right, then. MINI servicing is not cheap compared to other small cars.

Oh, I know all about this... my dealership changed the discs and pads at my 25,000-mile service - to a tune of just over £400.

In hindsight, I wish I'd requested the original discs back so I could inspect them, since it was my first ever pad change, the low pad warning light wasn't illuminated, and it was very clear that I wasn't down to metal-on-metal.

My advice is, if you're changing brakes at a dealer, ask for the original parts back so that you can show them to an independent expert to verify that they indeed required replacing in the first place.

If your MINI is out of warranty don't take it to a dealer. You will always be charged a huge price for this and every dealer is like this. Find a good independent mechanic to do the work.

Although, a car with a full BMW service history will have a better resale value.

Having said that, I'm not sure the extra you'd get on the sale would recoup the additional cost of all the BMW services over the years.

So I guess it's really up to you.

Doubtful and I have never seen any proof of this.... and as you said, you would never recoup the monies paid in service at sale time so it is pointless to take it to them unless you like giving away your hard earned money.

I'm agree with you!
But how can you reset milege for service interval on board computer?
As I know only oficial bmw service can do that.
