DIY My Girlfriend's New Mini Cooper S replica

HI I HAVE RECENTLY REPAIRED A MINI ONE INTO A COOPER S COURTESY OF EBAY FOR MY GIRLFRIEND.
I HAVE LEFT NO STONE UNTURNED EXCEPT FOR ENGINE I HAVE PUT A 6 SPEED GETRAG GEARBOX IN AS WELL ( FOLLOWING THE 1320AUTOS THREAD.. A TRUE NIGHTMARE FOR A NOVICE)
STARTED OFF AS A CHEAP CAR BUT EBAY GOT THE BETTER OF ME & MONEY BURNING A HOLE IN MY POCKET I DECIDED TO TO THIS FOR MY BELOVED GIRLFRIEND PASSED HER TEST 6MONTHS AGO (SHE HAD FORD KA, NOW THIS)
I AM NOW FRIGHTENED TO CALCAULATE HOW MUCH MONEY I HAVE SPENT IN TOTAL!

I WAS WONDERING....

IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO FIT MY EXHAUST PROPERLY I CAN ONLY MOUNT IT ON 1 BRACKET ON EACH SIDE... WOULD I HAVE TO USE LONG BOLTS IN THE BOOT FLOOR OR HAS ANYONE A BETTER IDEA ALSO I NEED TO WIRE MY FOG LIGHTS FROM THE MAIN LIGHT TO RELOCATE IN THE REAR BUMPER AND THE REVERSE LIGHT FROM BUMPER TO MAIN REAR LIGHT UNIT

ITS NOT CONCOURS CONDITION WITH FEW IMPERFECTIONS IT WAS A DAMAGED CAR BUT IT DOES LOOK GOOD ENOUGH TO DRIVE LIKE OTHER MINI'S I KNOW SOME OF YOU WOULD TURN YOUR NOSES UP AT IT BUT I PERSONALLY THINK YOU CANNOT ALWAYS RELY ON A CAR NOT BEING A DAMAGED CAR UNLESS INSURANCE DECIDE TO WRITE IT OFF OR THE OWNER COULD HAVE PAID FOR REPAIRS OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKET
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

Please stop shouting and turn the caps lock off.

I trust that you have told the insurance company about all of the mods - must be a nightmare to insure for someone who has only just passed their test and all of the mods on the car.

In Italy

looks nice, only thing i would change is the rear lights, they look a bit chavy,

I reckon an Arro grill would finish it off.

Only the nerds will spot its a 51 plate and therefore not cooper S.

Arent those rear lights OEM BMW ones?

Looks pretty good. I would notice the Cooper/One bumper at the front, but I'm not nerdy enough to notice its a 51 plate, so couldnt be a MCS. (Abviously Ant is that nerdy!)

Yes, they are OEM facelift tail lights

I'm a proper MINI nerd so spot all the wrong bits like facelift lights and grille but the old interior

Oh, and that badly fitting passenger airbag cover would really annoy me

As Snowie posted above though, did you have many problems insuring it with those mods?

Change the boot handle to either a chrome or body coloured one and the wing mirrors too as these are the only way to tell its a One apart from under the bonnet.

Good luck with the insurance!

You've certainly done a great job with this! Liking how it now looks like a facelift model Shows that alot of money has been spent on this

One thing though, how come your temp gauge reads -40.0 degrees

Looks like youve done a good job of it I agree about the passenger airbag cover though

And I do hope the insurance know that its a ONE with 'mods' (cooper s body basically) as if anything happened, it wouldnt go down to well if they didnt!

i know i'm really scared to calculate how much pennies i have thrown at it .
i was gonna restore it to original one spec but my panel repair guy had the car parked up doing nowt for 3 month (which annoyed me cos he originally said 2 week to repair ) just got the bug from this website and started buying bit by bit
The car isn now insured kwik fit fully comp cost 1350 but its because technically its modified, she is young, inexperienced and nil driving history, so next year should be better
i'm not gonna put a super charge in it cos the battery will have to be relocated
but i will sort the boot trim and mirrors out and a private reg
p.s sorry for the caps on, but what harm does it cause just wondering

On the internet its considered shouting.

Also, many dyslexic people can not read it if its all in CAPS, or funky fonts,or dodgy colours.

Being dyslexic myself, it was too difficult to read the text.
